Not much to tell. Blake is stable, and not much has changed. He hasn't gotten worse, and he's even showing a bit of getting better. We'll just have to wait and see.

Not much new as of right now. Cabella's outfitters sent him a cool lantern, thanks to Robin, the Family life person here at the hospital. (Ok Bass Pro shops... Out-do that... a bass boat would be nice) But now I digress... I had to step away from the computer for a minute, Blake's eyes came open and...

Sorry this update is so late... With school starting and other kids to take care of, it's a workout. Blake had a very restful day. His chest x-ray showed no change from yesterday. Although they have the ventilator doing more of the work for him, they were able to go down on some of the settings. Now...

Waiting on the chest x-ray to come back. Blake had a rough night last night but today he's very comfortable. 2 liters came off last night and reports say he's even looking much better. The Dr's did a bunch of ventilator adjustments last night and had to clear his lungs out a few times which was very...

Just got the report from Blake's morning x-ray. His lungs have gotten a little better. With this, the new PICU attending doctor has taken Blakes breathing from him and completely turned it over to the ventilator. They have also taken him off the morphine and put him on something stronger to make him...

Here we are... day 10... Blake had his last round of Chemo this morning... We cannot believe it has been 10 days already, and it's really hard to believe we have been in this hospital 2 weeks today. It seems like only yesterday that Tammy and I were getting married. Well, enough about us... Blake is...

Not much change today... Blake has been resting almost all day. Right now, as I type, the nurse is fixin to give him a bath (Lucky dude sometimes, I tell ya). The ventilator is continuing to breath for him on every other breath. He is heavily sedated and has slept almost all day. They have given him...

Blake rested comfortably last night with the help of MORE medication. Chest x-ray from this morning showed about the same as yesterday. Fluid in and around his lungs. Just playing the waiting game, trying to get the fluid off him. Today they are reducing the fluids in to limit the amount they need t...

Just got home from the hospital. Very taxing day... I want to clear something up (again)... I understand most people only understand "in a coma" and "Awake"... That's not the way it is. Yesterday, I said Blake was awake, and yes, his eyes were open and he was communicating with u...

Chest x-ray came in, and the news is not so good... His lungs contain more fluid and there is fluid around his left lung. Now, that is to be expected when you have 8 liters of extra fluid in your body. Today has been a very hard day for all of us. They have upped the Lasix to increase the fluid outp...

EVENT - Native American Power Sweat for Blake - Updated 9-27

There was a sweat on September 25 at 4:00 at a sacred site in Bumpass, VA. Unfortunately, we only had a total of 10 people for the sweat (We sure were hoping for more). It was very emotional and refreshing at the same time. Tammy and I were basically exhausted before we went in, but gained strength ...

Not much to update this morning. Pretty restless night because he's getting used to the drugs he's on to sleep. Every time them move him around, his temperature spikes, his breathing gets erratic and then they have to clear out his chest tube. If he lays on his back for a long time, he's comfortable...

Got an update from the CAT scan. Lesion on his Spleen, but they are not worried about it. Could be from birth or could be from the disease, either way, there is no sign of any problems from it. His lung had collapsed and had received damage from it, so that explains why his breathing is messed up. H...

Now it's REALLY cleared up... Blake was not really shooting... He put up both hands to his dad and moved his thumbs... his dad asked if he wanted the Game Cube, and Blake nodded his head yes... his dad then told him there were only 3 on the floor (outside PICU that is) and he had to share it with ot...
