First, let me clear one thing up... Blake is still in intensive care and is heavily sedated. Although he "Wakes Up" on occasion, he is not at all "Awake".
Next, I just returned from the hospital and we have news on the "rash"... He had a less than severe reaction to an antibiotic he was on which caused the blood in his skin to "seep out". It's like a bruise, just all over any place in his body that was touching anything (his back, neck, legs, head, blood pressure cuff, restrains). They took him off the drug a few days ago, so it shouldn't get any worse. Problem is, it cannot get any better because he has no white blood cells to carry away the tissue, so he'll look like he has sunburn for quite a while. he itches like crazy and they have him on a couple anti-itch drugs to comfort him a bit...
Blake was moved into another PICU room that has an air bed so there isn't as much pressure on the skin on his back. The room is bigger and he has a view of the rooftop playground. Only drawback is for us. Longer walk around the PICU to get to him, and there is no shower or private toilet. The toilet is out there in the open, no curtain or anything... but we can live with that.
That's it for now.
